Marine Mechanic Programs

Marine mechanics, or boat mechanics, specialize in repairing boats and other water crafts. Many professionals receive on-the-job training, but training programs and certificates are also available. These programs are generally offered in vocational or technical schools and provide coursework and hands-on training in all boating operating aspects. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook in 2009, the average wage of a marine mechanic is $35,430, with the field's highest earners making $55,030 a year on average.
