Just as it is the most populated region in the state, northwestern Washington is home to cities such as Tacoma and Seattle. The abundance of technical colleges also reflect the population. Metro and suburban Tacoma is where Bates, Clover Park Tech and Bates Technical are located. Within the city limits of Seattle, several college campuses that offer technical programs are situated near downtown. These include Seattle Community Colleges, UW Professional and Continuing Education, and Seattle Trade and Tech.
Two technical colleges are located in the southwestern region of Washington, both of which are in the city of Woodland. Industrial Training International offers national-accredited certification for crane operators, riggers and signalpersons. Similarly, West Coast Training also offers training in the field of heavy equipment operation. The Heavy Training Course lasts eight weeks long and consists of 320 clock hours with 50 percent of your time spent in the field. Training is also available for commercial driving and OSHA certification.
Central Washington is comprised of a myriad of towns including Yakima, Wenatchee and Moses Lake. These destinations also have different technical college options to choose from. In Yakima, Irwin Technical College, Professional Beauty School Inc. and Perry Technical Institute are three institutions with a variety of program options. Wenatchee is home to the Academy of Hair Design and North Central Washington Skill Center are available. Lastly, Big Bend Community College and the Char-Glo School of Beauty are both in Moses Lake.
The largest city in eastern Washington State is Spokane and in it are several technical colleges and universities offering technical and professional educational programs. Spokane Falls and Spokane Community Colleges, as well as the University of Phoenix-Eastern Washington Campus, are where students can enroll in technical learning programs. Colleges with a concentration on technical learning includes Interface College, ITT Technical Institute and Allied Training Systems.
