Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) offers over 80 diploma, certificate and degree programs. Diploma and certificate programs include things like Aviation, Business, Nursing, Computer Software Development, Welding, Cinematography, Education and Culinary Arts. Degrees programs include Associate's degrees in Art, Fine Art or Science. The Liberal Arts foundation for the Associate's programs span 35 areas of study including American Studies, Sociology, Biology and Journalism to ensure students a broad spectrum of foundational knowledge.
All prospective students must take placement tests in math, reading and writing unless waived by an academic advisor. These tests are not pass/fail, but are used to gauge academic ability prior to enrolling in classes. MCTC offers flexible scheduling to accommodate all types of lifestyles by offering evening and online courses. Credits taken at MCTC will transfer to other universities. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Dunwoody College of Technology operates under a mission called the Dunwoody Difference: building in each student a solid work ethic while developing critical thinking and decision making skills that are essential in the world of technical work. Hands-on training by dedicated staff is offered at two locations in the Twin Cities, one just west of downtown Minneapolis and the other in neighboring Chaska, Minnesota. The downtown campus is located a short distance from the Walker Art Center and Loring Park.
Diploma and Certificate programs at Dunwoody include Applied Management and Entrepreneurship, Automotive Technology, Building Design and Construction, Computer Technology, Physical Therapy and Graphic Design. Associate and Bachelor's degree programs are offered on evenings, weekends or online to accommodate busy students. All recipients of an Associate's degree program are automatically accepted into a Bachelor's program of their choosing. Dunwoody has an active student life including various clubs and organizations and an honor society. Campus tours can be arranged by calling the Admission's Office.

ITT-Technical Institute is a private college system based in Carmel, Indiana, that has been in operation since 1969. ITT-Tech has 105 campuses in 37 states with one in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a southwestern suburb of Minneapolis only 12 miles from downtown. Programs are offered in the following six categories; Information Technology, Electronics Technology, Drafting and Design, Business, Criminal Justice and Health Sciences.
Prior to enrolling in classes prospective students must meet with an ITT-Tech representative to tour the campus, discuss academic choices and determine eligibility. International students are encouraged to apply. ITT-Tech employs staff to assist students with the transition into college by locating potential employment and housing opportunities. Credits taken at ITT are not guaranteed to transfer to other institutions; the receiving institution makes the decision.
