Washington has six public four-year universities. The two biggest, the University of Washington and Washington State, offer three different campuses across the state. The University of Washington Seattle has the biggest enrollment with roughly 30,790 undergraduates. Washington State University at Pullman is the second biggest with roughly 18,200 students.
Washington is home to 24 private four-year universities. This includes two art schools: The Art Institute of Seattle and Cornish School of the Arts in Seattle. Also included are four Christian universities: Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in Tacoma, Northwest Theological Seminary in Lynwood, Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland and Trinity Lutheran College in Everett. Other notable schools include: Gonzaga University in Spokane and Seattle University in Seattle.
There are four private liberal arts colleges in Washington. They are: University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Walla Walla University in College Place, Whitman College in Walla Walla and Whitworth University in Spokane. Of these schools, Whitworth University is the biggest with of enrollment of 2,674 students. Though the biggest, Whitworth University only accepts 20 percent of its applicants.
Washington has over 50 community colleges. Four of these, North Seattle Community College, Seattle Central Community College, Seattle Vocational Institute and South Seattle Community College, are located in Seattle. Three schools are located in Spokane: The Institute of Extended Learning, Spokane Community College and Spokane Falls Community College.
