Satellites for Colleges in Washington State

Washington state boasts several hundred colleges. The two largest universities, the University of Washington and Washington State University, have satellite campuses across the state to increase educational access to students. Out-of-state colleges have satellite campuses in Washington as well. Satellite schools offer a limited selection of majors and degree programs compared to the main campus.
  1. University of Washington-Bothell

    • The University of Washington's satellite campus in Bothell, Wash., offers a range of academic programs, Bachelor degrees, Master degrees and post-baccalaureate certificates. Courses of study include environmental studies, business administration and global studies. The school offers a few Bachelor degree programs that combine three disciplines, such as science, technology and society.

    University of Washington-Tacoma

    • The University of Washington's satellite campus in Tacoma, Wash., offers additional courses of study. These include urban studies, criminal justice, health care leadership and marketing. Master degrees are available in social work and business administration. Those wishing to advance their careers in a specific field can pursue professional certificates. Public policy, commercial real estate and effective business writing are samplings of the certificates available.

    Washington State University-Tri-Cities

    • Washington State University's satellite Tri-Cities location in Richland, Wash., offers a handful of Bachelor degrees and Master degrees. Doctoral degrees are only offered through the main campus in Pullman, Wash. Online courses are also available. Applications for admission and scholarships can be submitted online.

    Washington State University-Vancouver

    • The various schools on campus at Washington State University in Vancouver, Wash., offer Bachelor and Master degrees. Student residents of Oregon counties that border Washington state may be admitted to WSU-Vancouver at the Washington resident tuition rate. Non-degree programs are available in fine arts, foreign languages, women's studies and professional writing.

    Golden Gate University-Seattle

    • San Francisco's Golden Gate University has a satellite campus in downtown Seattle. Programs include a Master degree in taxation and certificates in taxation, international taxation, estate planning and advanced studies in taxation. All courses are offered in the evening, Monday through Thursday. The teaching faculty are degreed tax professionals practicing in Washington state.
