Washburn is a municipal university consisting of a four-year university, a renowned law school, an institute of technology and a bridge program. Topeka Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee operates an electrical journeyman training school as a joint effort of the National Electrical Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
