Oklahoma Tech Schools

Students in the state of Oklahoma have a variety of options available to them if they wish to pursue a technical education.   1. Tulsa Welding School

    • The Tulsa Welding School has but one program: welding. The school has a strong emphasis in hands-on training, with four days out of every week spent welding in the shop and only one day per week spent inside a classroom. The school offers three different tracks for students to pursue including an Associate Degree in Welding Technology (completed in 14 months), a master welder program (completed in seven months) and a structural welder program (completed in three and a half months). The school also helps students secure financial aid as well as housing and employment while attending classes.

    Canadian Valley Technology Center

    • The Canadian Valley Technology Center has four locations throughout Oklahoma including Chickasha, Cowan, El Reno and Tuttle. Full-time programs are available only at the first three locations listed. Students may study such courses as automotive service technology, computer networking, cosmetology, welding, computer programming, and diesel mechanics. The school hosts a number of student organizations geared towards professions pursued while at Canadian Valley Technology Center.

    TulsaTech

    • TulsaTech provides technical education to the greater Tulsa area with campuses at Broken Arrow, Peoria, Riverside, Sand Springs, Lemley and Skyline as well as distance learning classes. Education at TulsaTech is structured around "career clusters" which combine a number of similar disciplines into one, allowing students to explore an area and decide which sector of it appeals to them most. Career clusters at TulsaTech include transportation and distribution, finance, education, health sciences, human services and manufacturing. Career Advisement at TulsaTech will help students determine what types of jobs in their field are the best fit for them.

    Moore Norman Technology Center

    • The Moore Norman Technology Center has two campuses in Oklahoma including one in Oklahoma City and another in Norman. Students at Moore Norman can study careers in three fields (http://mntechnology.com/classes/career-fields): health (including concentrations such as dental assisting, medical assisting, nursing assisting, surgical technology and biotechnology), business and information technology (with courses in accounting, computer programming, graphic design, database administration and web design) and engineering and technical trades (where students can major in welding, carpentry, cosmetology, automotive and electrical).
