Avionics Tech Schools

A modern airplane contains an array of highly complex components and accessories, such as brake systems, pumps, valves and air filtration parts. Preventive maintenance is a crucial aspect of the commercial airline industry that requires well-trained avionic equipment mechanics and service technicians to secure the proper performance of aircraft. Several schools in the United States provide high quality training in avionic technology.
  1. Pennsylvania College of Technology

    • The Pennsylvania College of Technology offers three programs in aviation technology. Both an associate degree and two-year certificate provide in-depth training in aircraft maintenance and repair. A Bachelor of Science degree with a major in aviation maintenance technology prepares students for careers in manufacturing, inspective, repair or maintenance through coursework in electronics, computers, business skills, avionic systems and technical troubleshooting. Classes are held in a state-of-the-art aviation facility that includes $1 million worth of aircraft equipment. The school's Department of Aviation recently won the Federal Aviation Administration's diamond award of excellence.
