    • Established in 1963, Quinsigamond Community College is a public, two-year college in Worcester that offers a certificate program in dental assisting. To enroll in the program, students must have a high school diploma and high school or college coursework in chemistry, mathematics and English. Students in the one-year program take courses in radiology, anatomy, pathology and dental practice management. All students complete a clinical internship prior to graduation. The school participates in federal and state loan and grant programs and also offers scholarship, work study and payment plans. A daycare center is located onsite for students with children. The college provides advising, personal counseling, tutoring and career placement assistance for all students.

    Springfield Technical Community College

    • Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield has a certificate program in dental assisting. A high school diploma or the equivalent is necessary for enrollment. The program is three semesters long and requires one full year to complete. Courses include psychology, oral communication, dental records and radiology.     Middlesex Community College

    • Middlesex Community College in Lowell offers an Associate of Science degree in dental assisting. A high school diploma or GED is required for enrollment. Courses in the major are offered at the college's branch in Lowell. All students spend approximately two years completely the coursework for the major and do laboratory work, take rotations at the college's dental hygiene clinic, participate in an external internship and have a mandatory service-learning project. Classes include radiology, preventative dentistry, dental practice management, English, mathematics, psychology and sociology. The program is offered only as a daytime course of study and classes begin only once per year. State and federal financial aid are offered through the school. Counseling and health services are offered for all students. There is also job-search assistance.
