Occupational Assistant Schools

Occupational therapist assistants work hand-in-hand with occupational therapists in order to provide the best rehabilitative care to patients. Courses include human anatomy and physiology, human growth and development, medical terminology, and therapeutic skills.     Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences

    • Students attending Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences benefit from the college's relationship with Florida Hospital, providing the opportunity for hands-on training. The Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant program requires both classroom learning and clinical experiences to complete the degree. Courses include anatomy and kinesiology, psychosocial issues, physical dysfunction, OT in geriatrics, OT in pediatrics and professional issues in OT. Students at Brown Mackie concentrate on one course at a time for 30 days, and then move on to the next course versus taking multiple courses at once during each semester. The school offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, training students in the fields of the human body as a whole, kinetics and kinematics, business practices for occupational therapy assistant and the effects that diseases and disorders have on the physical system.
