The Education and Research Foundation division of the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) offers scholarships to students interested in ophthalmic training programs. Juliette A. Southard founded the American Dental Assistants Association, which named the scholarship program after its founder. The program awards assistance to dental assistant students. The Maxine Williams Scholarship provides $1,000 to awarded candidates. Applications must be requested from the student financial aid administrator. Students must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
