Industrial Psychology Programs

The science of industrial psychology involves the study of a workplace and its employees. Industrial psychologists evaluate the relationship between employees in a work setting, the organizational structure of the setting and the interactions between the employees and their jobs. After the evaluation, the industrial psychologist will make recommendations towards creating a more productive and effective work setting. A number of graduate psychology programs address this specialized science.
  1. Ball State University

    • Ball State University in Indiana offers an M.A. in Cognitive and Social Processes which gives graduates the tools for working as an industrial psychologist. The two-year program provides training in cognitive and social psychology, statistics and research methods. Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree at a recognized university or college and have a minimum overall undergraduate Grade Point Average of 3.53.

    Marshall Goldsmith Schools of Management

    • The Marshall Goldsmith School of Management operates master's and PhD programs in Industrial Psychology at Alliant International Universities in San Diego, Los Angeles, Fresno and San Francisco Bay. In conjunction with their Industrial Psychology programs, they include specializations in Clinical Psychology, Consulting Psychology, Organizational Psychology and Organizational Development. The Marshall Goldsmith programs require that students complete field work during their studies.

    Baruch College of the City University of New York

    Industrial Psychology at Kansas State University

    • The master's program in industrial psychology at Kansas State University places great emphasis on the application of behavioral science methodologies and concepts to issues that face today's human resource profession.     • Rice University's PhD program in industrial psychology follows the scientist/practitioner model in regard to industrial psychology, preparing its students for working in the field as well as teaching and conducting research.
      Applicants to Rice University's PhD program in Industrial Psychology must bring with them a minimum 3.53 grade point average from their undergraduate school and prepare themselves for a minimum of four years of study.
