This four-year course is jointly provided by the University of Dublin and the Dublin Institute of Technology. According to DIT, anyone interested in applying for this degree will need to be in possession of an Irish Leaving Certificate with a minimum of six subjects. Three of those subjects, of which one must be in Chemistry, must be at higher level with a minimum grade of C3. The remaining three must include ordinary level Mathematics and English at C3.
Another four-year course, available at the University of Ulster. You can apply to enter with 'A' levels totaling at least 240 UCAS Tariff Points which must include grades CC. You will need two science subjects from Group A (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Home Economics), or one from Group A and one from Group B (Physical Education, Geography, IT, Applied Science). You can also apply with an Irish Leaving Certificate following the same criteria as for A Levels, although the 240 UCAS Tariff Points must include grades BBCCC. You will also need to have Higher Level English and Maths grade D or above, or Ordinary Level English and Math grades C or above. Finally, you can apply with a BTEC National Diploma in relevant sciences. You will need 240 UCAS Tariff Points.
Another four-year course at the University of Ulster. To enter you will require 240 UCAS Tariff Points. A Levels must include grades CC with at least one science subject. The Irish Leaving Certificate must include grades BBCCC with at least one science subject and Ordinary Level English and Mathematics at grade C. A BTEC National Diploma is also suitable provided it covers appropriate sciences.
Dietitians who qualified outside of Ireland may still be able to practice as long as they have their qualification approved by the Republic of Ireland's Department of Health and Children.
