The John Jay College of Criminal Justice offers a doctoral degree program in forensic psychology that offers two track options. The two options are the clinical track or the experimental track. Past students have taken four, five and six years to complete the program; this time includes the clinical internship. Required courses include ethical and legal issues in psychology, forensic interviewing and evaluation and ethnic, gender, cultural and diversity issues.

The program is designed to take between four and five years to complete and is offered in Chicago, Irvine, California, and Los Angeles, California. Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology has a forensic psychology program that is of a clinical nature. The program leads to the completion of a doctor of psychology (Psy.D.) degree in clinical psychology with a concentration in forensic psychology. The core courses in this program consist of five required courses, one of which is clinical experience.
