In addition, students participate in clinical practices, gaining real world experience.

    • Registered nurses looking for flexibility in their schedule when pursuing a higher education may consider the nurse anesthetist program at the University of Pittsburgh. The university offers part time study programs for the non-anesthesia classes required to complete the MSN program; however students must attend full time upon entry into the degree courses. Students receive training in courses including pathophysiology, physiology, advanced pharmacology, chemistry and physics and leadership and health care. Students will also participate in clinical practice.

    • Students pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing at York College of Pennsylvania have multiple specialties to choose from including Nurse Anesthetist. In addition, nursing students who do not currently have a Bachelor's degree can enroll in the RN to MSN program to begin nurse anesthetist studies.
