The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey offers a post-master’s degree certificate in homeland security that is designed to prepare students to become familiar with security, crime analysis, disaster preparedness and terrorism. This program requires students to complete five courses; two courses are mandatory and the remaining three are electives that are chosen from eight choices. The two mandatory courses are "Crisis, Emergency and Disaster Management" and "Terrorism: Foundations, Evolution and Globalization." The New Jersey Institute of Technology offers students two certificate options within the homeland security category. Students may choose to pursue a certificate in emergency management or a certificate in network security and information assurance. Both options are graduate certificates that consist of four courses each.
