Homeland Security College Programs

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates a 10-percent increase in the demand for detectives and law enforcement officers from 2008 through 2018. One possible career option for would-be detectives is working for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which includes the U.S. Customs Office, the U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. Secret Service. Typically, positions in homeland security beyond entry-level posts require post-secondary education. A number of colleges offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in the field.
