Eckerd College is a private liberal arts college that was founded in 1958. Rollins College, a private liberal arts college, was founded in 1885 as Florida's first institution of higher education. As of 2009, the school had about 1,800 undergraduates. Full-time undergraduate students can complete majors and minors in 27 different academic fields as well as pre-professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine and veterinary medicine. Evening undergraduate students can work toward bachelor's degrees in ten different fields. The Ringling College of Art and Design is a private art school that was founded in 1931. As of 2009, the school had about 1,400 undergraduates working toward professional Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees in more than ten different art fields, including painting, photography, sculpture, illustration, digital filmmaking and game design. All students must complete the interdisciplinary Core Studios Program before selecting a medium of concentration.
