Pueblo Community College is located in Pueblo, which is 30 minutes south of Colorado Springs. PCC offers a 48-credit practical nursing program. Students learn through lectures, labs and hands-on clinical learning. To be accepted into the LPN program at PCC, you need to complete prerequisite classes in mathematics, biology and English. You also need a high school diploma or GED, as well as a background check and a health check.

The Academy of Medical and Health Science is located in Pueblo. At AMHS, practical nursing students learn to function as nurses in a variety of specialties and settings. Classes are taught in lecture, laboratory and clinical settings. Students interested in the LPN program at AMHS need to have a high school diploma or GED, they need to have taken nurse assistant courses and they need to pass a program entrance exam. Classes begin every January.

Pikes Peak Community College, located in Colorado Springs, offers several nursing programs, including an LPN program. PPCC's LPN program requires students to take courses in pharmacology, nutrition, mathematics, medical/surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, obstetric nursing and human anatomy and physiology, among others.
