LPN Resident Programs in Tennessee

There are several places in Tennessee for students to learn how to become a licensed professional nurse, or LPN. At these schools, nursing students learn how to take a patient's vital signs, blood pressure, pulse and temperature, monitor their daily needs, treat injuries and give medicine.
Training programs take about one year of continuous, full-time classes.
  1. Tennesee Technology Center

    • Tennessee Technology Center has campuses throughout the state. At these campuses, students take classes and receive hands-on training in a clinic. There are 27 campuses in the state, located in Athens, Chattanooga, Covington, Crossville, Crump, Dickson, Elizabethton, Harriman, Hartsville, Hohenwald, Jacksboro, Jackson, Knoxville, Livingston, McKenzie, McMinnville, Memphis, Morristown, Murfreesboro, Nashville, Newbern, Oneida, Paris, Pulaski, Ripley, Shelbyville
      and Whiteville.

      The center's main office is in Knoxville, where program questions can be addressed.

    Chattanooga State Technical Community College

    • Chattanooga State Technical Community College developed its nursing program in 1982. Several disciplines are offered, including the Today, the Division which offers 6 different regional programs that cover a 6 state area surrounding Tennessee. The program is offered at the college's six campuses, East, Eastgate Town Center, Main, Dayton, Kimball and Sequatchie/Bledsoe.

    • Walters State Community College offers a LPN program, which the school refers to as the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree. The program offers the degree at its campuses in Morristown, Greeneville, and Sevierville. In 2008 to 2009, in state tuition was $2,506 and out-of-state tuition is $10,006.
