Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) offers an accounting associate's of applied science degree. Graduates of this program are exempt from taking another four-year business course because the program prepares students for accounting placement exams. The goal of this degree program is to give students a stable foundation in accounting concepts, providing them with hands-on experience through computerized accounting packages and electronic spreadsheets to enable them to process payroll and other legal reporting requirements, analyze financial statements and utilize accounting information to contribute to more profitable and efficient management. Graduates with an MHCC accounting associate's degree qualify for positions such as account managers, full-charge bookkeepers and staff accountants. MHCC offers more than 60 technical and professional degrees as well as a host of academic exchange programs. MHCC belongs to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs labels it as a training school. MHCC has three campuses in Oregon.

Stevens-Henager College offers a competitive bachelor's degree in accounting that prepares students to enter career positions in public and private accounting firms as well as in government and with nonprofit organizations. The curriculum equips students with an understanding of both business and financial concepts and how they relate to professional accounting. Stevens-Henager's accounting degree also prepares students to earn certifications in Microsoft user specialist-access, Internet commerce/management and tax preparation.
