Trade schools provide students with specialized job training in order to prepare them to enter the workplace in a specific field immediately upon graduating. What differentiates a trade school from a college is that mostl classes at a trade school are focused on vocational training. It is located in Garden City, New York on a 225-acre campus in the middle of Long Island. Nassau is the largest of the the SUNY community colleges. The school's website claims to have one of the best student to faculty ratios in the state. It offers courses in more than 70 fields. These classes range from business to liberal arts to natural sciences. It offers associate degrees with focus on liberal arts in humanities and social sciences as well as with focus on math and lab sciences.     Delaware Technical & Community College

    • Delaware Technical & Community College is located in Dover, Delaware. It is the state's only community college. It offers over 100 associate degree, diploma, and professional certificate program options. These programs range in focus from biotechnology to engineering to culinary arts. This school offers associates degrees that can easily transfer to another college or university, or programs with emphasis on getting students working as soon as they graduate for those who want to enter the workforce sooner. Delaware Tech is fully accredited by the Commission on Higher Education, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

    South Carolina Technical College System

    • The State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education is composed of 16 technical colleges across the state of South Carolina. It also operates three affiliate programs, the Center for Accelerated Technology Training, Apprenticeship Carolina, and competeSC. Overall the system has about 115,000 credit and 128,000 continuing education students. These schools place an emphasis on accommodating the specific needs of students of all ages and walks of life. Three of South Carolina's five biggest public colleges are technical schools run by the South Carolina Technical College System.
