Colleges for Acting Careers

Some actors may choose to educate others within acting conservatories, universities or other academic settings. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, 11 percent of the 56,500 employed actors in 2008 worked in the motion picture and video production industry, which is centered in Los Angeles and New York. This is why some of the most prestigious schools are located in these cities.
