Located in Boston, Bunker Hill Community College was founded in 1973. Today, the college has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students and is one of the largest community colleges in Massachusetts. BHCC's Culinary Arts Department features three distinct degree programs in the field. The college's intensive culinary arts associate degree program equips students with food production, service and management skills necessary for culinary arts careers. The program's curriculum includes courses like Introduction to Culinary Arts and Essentials of Dining Service, as well as an internship requirement. Students matriculated into BHCC's culinary arts associate degree program are also required to take general education courses in math and writing. BHCC also offers shorter, two-semester certificate programs in Culinary Arts and in Pastry Arts.

Holyoke Community College is in the southern Massachusetts city of Holyoke, located on the Connecticut River. In addition to an extensive catalog of certificate and associate degree programs in various academic areas like Early Childhood Education, Business Administration and Engineering Students, the college features culinary arts options within its Hospitality and Culinary Arts Department.
