Marquette University School of Dentistry offers a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree for students who have completed 90 semester undergraduate hours at an accredited college. Students pursuing the DDS degree will attend classes the fall, spring and summer terms for the first three years, and fall and spring terms the last year. Courses include introduction to clinical practice, clinical periodontal therapy, clinical restorative procedures, foundations of oral health, and oral biology, medicine and diagnosis. Marquette University School of Dentistry also offers a master of science degree and PhD degree in dentistry, which can be earned while students are in the DDS program.

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Dentistry offers a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree that includes a mix of basic, social and clinical sciences. Students admitted to the program must first complete at least three years and 90 hours of coursework on the undergraduate level. Dentistry school classes include principles of occlusion, infectious disease control, TMJ and dental morphology, radiology, radiosurgery and materials. The dental school also offers a Master of Science in Oral Biology and advanced programs in endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and prosthodontics.

Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) School of Dentistry's Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree takes 47 months to complete. Graduates are prepared to practice general dentistry with an emphasis on disease prevention and skills for diagnostic, technical and treatment plans. Clinical studies and experience begin freshman year when students see their first dental patient. Courses cover subject matter such as oral pathology, biological sciences, restorative techniques and implantology. The program also consists of community service and elective classes. OHSU School of Dentistry offers five specialty programs: orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontology and periodontology. Students in these programs must have graduated from an accredited dental school. Graduates of these advanced programs will receive a Certificate or Certificate-Masters.
