Operating Room Training Programs

Surgical technicians work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other medical staff in hospital operating rooms. Two-year community colleges and technical schools typically offer training programs in surgical technology that combine classroom instruction with clinical experience to prepare graduates for careers. Additionally, graduates of associate degree programs in surgical technology qualify to sit for a certification examination administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
