Surgical Tech Training Programs

As part of an operating room team, a surgical technologist provides assistance before, during and after surgery by assembling equipment, transporting patients to the operating room and cleaning the operating room, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Aspiring surgical technologists should seek out training programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. Training programs impart skills in handling equipment and supplies, as well as infection control.
