Neonatal Nursing Colleges in Kentucky

Neonatal nurses are registered nurses who work with newborn infants. There are few programs in Kentucky that offer neonatal nursing as an educational specialty. However, you can earn a nursing degree that includes instruction in neonatal practices.
  1. University of Louisville

    • The School of Nursing at the University of Louisville offers a Master of Science program with a specialized track in neonatal care. Graduates are eligible for the neonatal nurse practitioners certification exam. The program track is offered only during selected semesters. Students complete a series of core courses and participate in two semesters of clinical practice.

    University of Kentucky

    • The University of Kentucky’s College of Nursing offers several bachelor’s degree options in nursing, as well as doctoral degrees in nursing philosophy and nursing practice. Offerings include a course on nursing care for childbearing families, which covers neonatal care.

    Western Kentucky University

    • The College of Nursing at Western Kentucky University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing. The Master of Science program prepares students for advanced practice nursing and builds on the skills of the undergraduate registered nursing program. The curriculum includes courses in maternal-newborn nursing and pediatric nursing.
