Top Ranked Computer Science Colleges in Ohio

Ohio is home to several nationally ranked computer science schools. The top ranked computer science departments are located at established universities with strong reputations in the various engineering fields. U.S. News & World Report established its list of the top programs in the nation in 2010 based on surveys completed by faculty members in the computer science field in colleges and universities across the United States. Three Ohio schools emerged as clear leaders within the state.
  1. Ohio State University

    • Ohio State University is home to the state's highest ranked computer science department. At No. 28 in the nation, the university's program is among the top-tier programs nationwide. Ohio State offers students numerous programs of study at both the undergraduate and graduate degree levels. Undergraduate students can pursue bachelor of science degrees in computer science and engineering or computer and information science. A bachelor of arts degree is also offered in computer and information science.

Students can further their studies by pursuing the master of science degree as part of a dual degree program in conjunction with the bachelor of science. The M.S. program has two tracks: one in research and one that emphasizes coursework.

A Ph.D. is also offered at the graduate level. Within the doctoral program students can pursue a concentration in interdisciplinary studies or even a minor in applied software engineering.
