Top Ranked Undergraduate Engineering Colleges

Hundreds of quality colleges and universities offer engineering programs in the United States. In 2009, U.S. News & World Report conducted a comprehensive survey of undergraduate engineering programs, measuring schools' standings among its peers and learning outcomes amongst students. Among the top-ranked schools are prestigious private institutions and large state universities.
  1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology

    • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a private research university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was ranked in 2009 as the top undergraduate engineering school by U.S. News & World Report. MIT offers several quality undergraduate degrees, including those in the following disciplines: aeronautics and astronautics, biological engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear science and engineering. Undergraduate degree programs at MIT are intended to take four years to complete, and engineering students must complete a full slate of general education courses along with the core engineering courses offered in each discipline.
