Stanford University offers a bachelor of arts in psychology on the northern California campus. Students can choose a major or minor in psychology through the undergraduate program, which also offers four specialization tracks. The University of California, Berkeley awards a bachelor's degree in psychology. The degree program is popular, so not all students who want to enter the program can be accommodated; students must apply to be accepted into the major. Courses cover the topics of clinical science, developmental psychology and cognition. Undergraduate students can join a number of organizations, including the Association of Psychology Undergraduates and International Honors Society in Psychology.

The undergraduate program in psychology at Harvard University allows students to study general psychology or focus on a specific aspect of the field. Social psychology, abnormal psychology and neurobiology of behavior are among the required topics of study for students who choose the general psychology track. The available degree concentration tracks are in the areas of cognitive sciences and the life sciences. Students who choose a specialized track will be required to take electives specific to their track in addition to general psychology courses. All students are encouraged, though not required, to complete a senior thesis research project.
