Three Year Bachelor Degree Programs

While three-year undergraduate degrees are customary in Europe, the trend has only recently caught on in the United States. Given the rising cost of college, many students have begun to seek three-year programs as a cost-effective alternative to traditional four-year undergraduate programs. According to a 2009 report by USA Today, several institutions have begun to offer three-year degree programs.
  1. Judson University Christian College

    • Judson University Christian College's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program can be completed in 33 months. The core curriculum is grounded in basic business coursework that draws from contemporary trends and techniques and places emphasis on leadership skills. Coursework includes marketing fundamentals, microeconomics, management principles, business law, corporate finance and a senior management seminar. The program offers two summer internships.

    Manchester College

    • Manchester College's Fast Forward program allows students to complete their undergraduate degree on an aggressive three-year schedule. The program spans all majors. Students must have an SAT score of 1650 or better and declare a major upon enrollment. Areas of study include more than two dozen programs, among them computer science, physical education, sociology and social work, gender studies, medical technology, theatre and criminal justice.

    Seattle University

    • Matteo Ricci College at Seattle University offers an accelerated three-year Bachelor of Arts in humanities. The program is meant as a springboard into myriad academic and business disciplines and allows students access to the university's wide variety of internship and study-abroad programs. Core coursework includes composition, ethics, and socio-cultural examination of the major intellectual, religious, historical and economic roots of Western civilization.
