The program provides intensive classroom instruction along with clinical experiences in nearby health care facilities to enable students to gain a well-rounded education that involves hands-on learning. The program is offered on a full-time basis and requires 41 semester hours. Required coursework includes human anatomy and physiology, human development, psychology, nutrition, pharmacology, practical nursing practices and pediatric nursing concepts. The Certificate of Achievement program prepares graduates to sit for the NCLEX-PN licensure examination.

The program offers flexible class options during the day and evening and clinical learning experiences at local health care facilities. The program is offered at the Galesburg and Branch campus. The practical nursing certificate program prepares students to work under the direction of registered nurses and doctors in many different health care environments.
