Ivy Tech Community Colleges is a system of two-year community colleges throughout Indiana. ITCC has 19 locations that offer a fully accredited LPN to RN program. The program is 74 to 78 credit hours, with 31 to 35 credits of general education and 43 credits of nursing classes. The program is the same at each location. The classes include fundamentals of nursing, pharmacology for nursing, maternal child nursing, health care concepts in nursing and psychiatric nursing. Graduates earn an associate's degree in nursing and qualify to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse.

Indiana State University is a public university in Terre Haute, which is west of Indianapolis near the Indiana/Illinois state line. ISU offers a fully accredited LPN to RN program that leads to a bachelor's degree in nursing. This is a 96-credit-hour program, but 124 credits are needed to graduate with a bachelor's degree. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse. Classes include transition from LPN to B.S.N., nursing in mental illness, comprehensive health assessment for nursing practice, nursing leadership and reflective nursing practice. It usually takes three to four years to complete the program, not including any prerequisite classes students may need. The advantage of this program is the bachelor's degree, which gives graduates more employment opportunities.

The University of Saint Francis is a private Catholic university in Fort Wayne, Indiana. USF offers a fully accredited 72-credit-hour LPN to RN program. It usually takes one to two years to complete the program, not including prerequisites. Upon completion of the program, students earn an associate's degree in nursing. Classes include LPN transitions, medical-surgical nursing, maternity nursing, child health nursing and pharmacology in health care. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse.
