University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing offers an RN to BSN/MSN program for nurses with an associate's degree or diploma. As part of program admission requirements, students must complete UA core requirement classes which include biology, chemistry, math and statistics. Courses for the BSN degree include nursing informatics, epidemiology, advanced pathophysiology, theoretical models and fiscal research management.
It should take four terms to complete the BSN degree requirements after core-class requirements have been completed. Students will then go immediately into the master's program. The MSN program should take another two terms to complete. Course work includes evidence-based practice, issues in pharmacotherapeutics and clinical immersion. The RN to BSN/MSN program can be completed at a slower pace for those who wish to be part-time students.
