An LPN to RN program is a specially designed, accelerated course of study that allows licensed practical nurses to get a degree in nursing to become a registered nurse. According to salary.com, the median annual salary for RNs was $62,527 as of November 2009.     • Indiana State University offers an online LPN to RN program recognized by 36 states. The 96-hour program is fully accredited and leads to a bachelor degree in nursing. Upon graduation from this program, students are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam. Classes in this program include: Transition from L.P.N. to B.S.N., Nursing Care of Adults, Nursing Leadership, Reflective Nursing Practice and Professional Nursing Synthesis. The program is eight semesters in length, not including prerequisite classes. It generally takes anywhere from two to four years to complete this program.

    • Chamberlain College of Nursing is a fully accredited private college that offers an LPN to RN bridge program. Completion of this 72-credit hour program will lead to an associate degree in nursing and qualify you to take the NCLEX-RN exam. This is a five-semester program that generally takes about two years to complete.
