Penn State University offers an online certificate program the field of weather forecasting. Although Penn State does not offer a degree program in the field, the certificate program can be a step in that direction by providing students with foundational knowledge that can be transferred to a school offering a full degree program in climatology or meteorology. The program requires the completion of 12 credit hours in the field.
