Accredited Bachelor's Degrees

Online schooling offers great benefits, but you have to ensure that your bachelor's degree is accredited regionally or nationally. Regional accreditation means that the school is only accredited in the region in which it lies, such as the New England region or the Southern region. National accreditation is often awarded to major universities and does not go by boundaries, but rather by the quality of education. Going through an accredited university to earn your bachelor's degree will earn you more credibility in your future work, especially if you go through a well-known university that is nationally recognized.
  1. Kaplan University

    • Kaplan University is a fully accredited university that offers both online and traditional campus courses. This university offers associate, bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to business, health sciences, education, information systems, sciences and arts. Any bachelor's degree you receive at Kaplan would be nationally recognized with employers or other universities that you may attend in the future.

    American Intercontinental University

    • American Intercontinental University is a well-known school that offers a vast curriculum for students looking to study online. You can choose from campus courses, online-only courses, or a blended course schedule that includes both. AIU also boasts lower tuition rates and financial aid for those who qualify. AIU is also transfer-friendly and will usually transfer credits from past schools or transfer credit earned at AIU to other colleges or universities. This transfer-friendly credit can get you into another fully accredited university of your choice if you plan to pursue further education (see reference 2 and resources).

    Ashford University

    • Ashford University, based out of Iowa, offers several bachelor's degree programs online. This university will design your entire four-year curriculum, taking one course at a time. Programs include humanities and arts, social sciences and business, among many others. These courses are taken exclusively online, including finals and other tests. This university is ideal for those who need to study at home. Ashford is fully accredited and has been recognized as one of the better online schools, and employers will take notice.

    Everest University

    • Everest University offers a variety of bachelor's programs in areas such as legal degrees, accounting and business degrees, and computer information-systems degrees. These programs are offered exclusively online, just like Ashford, and around-the-clock assistance is available if you have questions or concerns about your online classes.
