Accredited Online Bachelor's Degrees

In most countries, an accredited university is one which is officially recognized by the Ministry of Education as having the right to grant a college degree. However, in the United States, the Department of Education does not get involved in this process, nor do any state governments do it. Instead, the process of accreditation is left to certain organizations that check each others' credentials and decide if they are worthy of being accredited. For this reason, it's important to check whether the accreditation is actually from a reliable source.
  1. Thomas Edison State College

    • Famous for being one of the first online colleges in the world and for offering the Tecep exams (Thomas Edison College Examination Program), Thomas Edison is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education. This organization is the same one that accredits the likes of Columbia University. Thomas Edison offers discounts for New Jersey residents and has both bachelor's and master's degree programs available.
