Enos Spencer founded the college in 1892 and it is part of the Sullivan University System. Students are able to choose from a variety of fields, including health and science, in their pursuit of a certificate, diploma or associate's degree. Online classes are another way to pursue respiratory therapy in Louisville. These classes allow for a bit more flexibility according to the students schedule while maintaining the same educational standard. A few of the online schools are Carrington College, Grand Canyon University and Independence University. These schools each offer a respiratory associates degree program and/or bachelor's degree in health and science.
