Colleges in South Central Pennsylvania

South Central Pennsylvania is home to Harrisburg, which is the state capital, York and Amish Country. Students here can enjoy the Susquehanna River. It is also home to many colleges and trade schools.
  1. Central Penn College

    • Central Penn College has campuses in Harrisburg, Lancaster and the Lehigh Valley. The school offers more than 20 different bachelor and associate degree programs and certificate programs. Students also can participate in one of the many clubs, sports or community service projects.

    Franklin and Marshall

    • Franklin & Marshall is a residential liberal arts college in Lancaster. The school is home to 2,200 students and offers a small teacher-to-student ratio, as of 2010. The school offers over 70 clubs and organizations, 10 Greek organizations and 27 athletic teams. Students also have the option to study abroad. Lancaster itself offers art galleries, historical buildings, a variety of eateries and nightclubs.

    Lancaster Bible College

    • Lancaster Bible College is located just outside of Lancaster in affluent Manheim Township. The college caters to both undergraduates and continuing education students. The school has a Biblical Division, an Arts and Science Division and a Professional Division. The college offers 12 athletic teams -- six male and six female teams -- as of 2010. It is an accredited, non-denominational institution.

    Millersville State University

    • Millersville is one of the SSHE schools -- State System of Higher Education -- in South Central Pennsylvania. Home to over 8,000 students, as of 2010, the school offers science and mathematics, education and humanities and social sciences. Its 250 acres offer students a wide variety of athletics and extra curricular activities.

    Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology

    • Stevens Tech offers 17 associate degree courses and two certificate programs as of 2010. All courses are designed to give the student a vocational knowledge and experience. The school has five athletic teams and is located on the east side of Lancaster City, which offers art galleries, historical buildings, numerous restaurants and nightspots.

    York College of Pennsylvania

    • Located in York County, the school offers more than 50 baccalaureate majors in to its 4,600 undergraduate students.
