St. Charles, Missouri, is home to St. Charles Community College, Missouri Tech, Vatterott College St. Charles and Lindenwood University.
Vatterott is a technical college with campuses in nine states throughout the Midwest, include Nebraska, Oklahoma, Illinois, Texas and Missouri. The O'Fallon, Missouri, Vatterott campus was moved to St. Charles in 2010.
Lindenwood University is a four-year school with a full complement of athletic programs and extracurricular activities like its continuing film series and various student associations.
Missouri Tech of St. Charles awards bachelor's and associate degrees in five subjects and offers three diploma and certificate programs. Vatterott College, St. Charles campus likewise awards associate degrees and diplomas, the latter in five disciplines and the former in six. Lindenwood University awards Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees through its undergraduate and continuing education programs. Graduate degrees available from Lindenwood are Master of Business Administration, Master of Science, Master of Arts, Master of Fine Arts, Educational Specialist and Educational Doctorate. St. Charles Community College offers associate degrees and certificates.
Vatterott College offers diplomas in computer technology, information systems security, cosmetology, electrical mechanic studies and heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. Associate degree programs at the school include business management, medical billing and coding and computer systems and network technology. Lindenwood University has myriad fields of study, including accounting, biology, athletic training, philosophy, education, music, musical theater, Spanish, sports management, non-profit administration and pre-law, pre-medicine, pre-veterinary science and pre-engineering. Students at Missouri Tech can study network administration, information technology, software engineering, electronics engineering and more while students of St. Charles Community College can take courses in criminal justice, occupational therapy, literature, geography, history, mathematics, graphic design and more.
Missouri Tech helps eligible students apply for federal aid through programs such as the Pell Grant, Stafford Loan and PLUS, a loan program that allows parents to borrow money to help pay for their child's education. Future teachers enrolled in the education program at Lindenwood University may apply for the federal TEACH Grant. Other Lindenwood students can find scholarships through the Missouri Department of Education, the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis and national scholarship-awarding organizations like Sallie Mae. Vatterott students may apply for federal aid through the school. St. Charles Community College fees are partially subsidized by the Missouri state government. Additional aid is available to veterans and low-income residents.
