Holos University is a graduate seminary college. While also influenced by religion, Holos has no affiliation with Southwest Baptist University. Instead Holos focuses of programs pertaining to holistic mysticism, spiritual direction, counseling intuition, transformational psychology and integrative health care. The university utilizes distance learning, meaning students can receive instruction across the country through email, telephone and webinars. However, some courses require a short residency program where physical attendance is mandatory.

As a branch of Texas County Technical Institute, Bolivar Technical College was established in 2005 to serve residents of Bolivar and the surrounding area. Educational opportunities through the college include certification and associates degrees for students interested in studying accounting, medical office administration , nursing, emergency medical services and education. The Missouri College of Cosmetology (MCOC) trains students in the fields of hairdressing, cosmetology, aesthetics and manicuring. As a branch of Pivot Point, a cosmetology school in Evanston, Illinois, MCOC encourages creativity and passion in its students.
