Lists of Urban Performing Art Colleges in Atlanta

The school also offers "special topics" courses that cover subjects such as "African-American Composers," "Music, Television, Films and Their Impact on Culture" and "Musics of Multicultural America." As of February 2011, the music minor program has been suspended pending review and revision.

    Spelman College

    • Spelman offers traditional music major courses, such as music theory, introduction to world musics and history of western music. However, it also offers urban oriented courses, such as a survey of African-American music and history of Jazz. The school also has an all-female Jazz Ensemble that performs soulful music across the country.

The program offers courses in Theatre Application, Oral and Written Presentation Skills and Voice and Diction.
