Music Production Colleges in Atlanta

Atlanta has several colleges that can help students train for a career as a music producer. In particular, these colleges offer music technology programs, which will give the students the necessary skills to start their careers as a producer.     • The Art Institute of Atlanta offers a bachelor's program in audio production. This program teaches students to record, edit, mix and master recordings. Students will get in-depth classroom instruction, in addition to hands-on work using the various equipment and technology used in audio production.     Georgia Institute of Technology

    • The Georgia Institute of Technology (commonly referred to as Georgia Tech) has a master's program in music technology, an interdisciplinary program that also works with other programs at Georgia Tech, including such programs as industrial design, interactive digital technology and electrical engineering. This program equips students with the necessary skills to be top-notch music engineers and producers. Students leave with a deep understanding of digital technology and how they can apply it to recording and music performance. Among the offered courses are music technology history, music recording & mixing and digital media production & mastering.

    George State University

    • The School of Music at Georgia State University offers a bachelor's degree program in music technology. This program trains students to work in a variety of fields, such as music producing, as well as other media-related industries. Students learn the skills necessary to succeed at music engineering, in addition to developing creative and artistic skills that will greatly help them in a career as a music producer. Students get to work in the Center for Audio Recording Arts where they receive hands-on training in audio engineering and technology.
