How to Reference Another Dissertation

When writing a term paper or even your dissertation, it is critical that you correctly cite all sources so that you are not accused of plagiarism. This includes lesser-known works, such as the dissertations of fellow students. To properly cite a dissertation, you need to include basic information, such as the dissertation's title, author, year completed and the college it was defended at. The exact form of your citation will depend on whether you are adhering to Modern Language Association (MLA) or Chicago Manual of Style guidelines.
