Students majoring in criminal justice or conducting related research may qualify for a travel grant offered by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS). The grants may be used to pay for travel to an ACJS conference, where they must present papers on law enforcement or criminal justice topics. Some travel grant money is set aside each year for female and minority applicants.

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) offers several annual Student Travel Awards that can be applied to a variety of SIAM conferences. Each award is $550, and generally the organization offers at least ten of them each year. Applicants must be in good academic standing, and must be traveling from over 100 miles away in order to be eligible to apply.

The Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies offers between 30 and 40 scholarships for travel and research each year. Undergraduate students may apply for the center's Goldman Undergraduate Research Travel Grants, while graduate students may apply for either the Maurice Lazarus Graduate Research Travel Awards or the Abby and George O'Neill Graduate Research Travel Grants. Applicants for the Goldman grants must be students at Harvard, Wellesley, or Wheaton colleges who are in going to write their senior thesis on a topic in Russian or Eurasian studies.
