Established by California State University at Chico graduate and music educator Elaine West, this scholarship is awarded annually to a student with a love of classical music who plays either the clarinet or flute. Preference for the award is given to an upper division student or one pursuing a graduate degree in music, to help foster "the rich music heritage of Chico State," according to the school website.
