Music Universities in Southern California

A bachelor of arts in music is a broad degree that encompasses both theory and instrumental or vocal performance. Music majors obtain technical and creative skills as well as a strong work ethic from completing a degree in such a competitive industry. Even from the acceptance stage, a music degree program can be challenging. Students applying to a music degree program and focusing on performance are required to demonstrate advanced skill in the instrument of choice and sometimes proficiency in piano. Graduates of a music program can go on to focus on becoming professional performers or can use the degree to work as teachers, musicologist and composers.
