Full Tuition Nursing Scholarships

There are a variety of full-tuition scholarships for nursing students. These are available from the U.S. government at both the federal and state level, as well as from independent organizations dedicated to easing the shortage of qualified nurses. Most of these scholarships involve a service obligation, whereby a student is required to work in a certain state or location for a given amount of time.
  1. HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program

    • The Health Resources and Services Administration, an office of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, offers approximately 500 full-tuition scholarships to nursing students every year through the HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program. In addition to completely paying for a student's tuition and associated educational expenses, this program also offers a monthly stipend of $1,326. In exchange, a student must work in the United States as a nurse after graduation at a health care facility that is deemed to have a critical shortage of nurses. The service obligation is for a minimum of 2 years. In order to be eligible, a student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is not delinquent on a federal debt. Preference is given to students seeking a bachelor's degree who can demonstrate financial need. Interested students should visit the HRSA website for more information about the program.
